Material
Monarch II Systems Model "MS" uses Chevron CP Chem™ high density polyethylene material. Often called the "third generation", this PE 3408 material has combined the high tensile strength of high-density polyethylene with superior long time performance properties. Refer to
Chevron Phillips website for detailed engineering data, ASTM Standards, and MSDS sheets.

Polyethylene pipe came into widespread use in the United States in the 1950's primarily in the oil fields. Because of its outstanding durability and chemical resistance properties, its use expanded to other industries, such as power, mining, and in plants where conditions are acidic, corrosive, and erosive.
Since there were and are no adhesives to bond polyethylene pipe, it became necessary to devise a means of joining the pipe through heat fusion. This form of joining has proven over the years to be the most cost effective and efficient method, providing the highest joint integrity and reliability.
